A gentle guide through recovery

The Night My Daughter Caught a Sickness Bug
(And How I Got Through It)

A real story, in real time. Ten short videos, about an hour total, walking you through exactly what happened when my daughter got a sickness bug, what I did, what I thought, and what I'd want you to know if you're facing this situation yourself.

Before you watch

I'm not going to pretend getting to this stage was easy. It wasn't.
But it was worth every bit of effort so I could be there for my daughter in the way I wanted to be.

If you're an emetophobe reading this because you're currently dreading the next time there is a sickness bug in your house, or because it just happened and you're trying to hold it together, this series is for you. I filmed it as it unfolded so you could see the real thing, not a tidied up version after the fact.

Ten videos. About an hour total. Watch them in order, or jump to the bit you think will be most useful for you right now.

Support is possible

If this scenario is what scares you most

This exact fear, a child getting sick and you having to cope, is one of the most common things I hear from people before they start the Emetophobia-Free Programme. It makes complete sense that it feels unmanageable right now. It felt unmanageable to me too, once.

What changes isn't the situation. Sickness bugs still happen. What changes is what's happening in your head when they do.

I run The Emetophobia Workshop, a 12-week intensive training experience based on the Emetophobia-Free Programme. It's an evidence-based, exposure-free approach built specifically for emetophobia, not adapted from general anxiety treatment.
